About Me

"The best way to predict your future is to create it."  - Abraham Lincoln

Where I'm From

I originally grew up in a town outside of  Syracuse, NY called Fayetteville. I went through grade school and high school in the Fayetteville-Manlius School District. I then attended Oneonta State College (a state school near Cooperstown, NY). I received my degree in Early Childhood/Childhood Education in 2012. I then moved back to Syracuse and attended Oswego State College and received my Literacy Master's Degree.

Teaching

I started my teaching career as a Kindergarten teacher in Fayetteville. I then began my second year of teaching at Syracuse Academy of Science, as a first grade teacher. This was when I received the exciting call that Schenectady was interested in adding me to their family.

Schenectady

I packed up my stuff and moved to Saratoga, NY with some of my friends and began teaching at Pleasant Valley Elementary School. I was the 4th, 5th and 6th grade ELA teacher for the 2015-2016 school year. Now I am happy to be a part of the Oneida Middle School family, teaching 6th grade ELA and Social Studies.

What I Like to do for Fun

  • dance (I danced for the majority of my life and was on the dance team at Oneonta State College)
  • Outdoor Activities (hiking, swimming, fishing...)
  • Spending time with my friends and family
